Dream Gazette #21

Morning Of Wednesday, August 12, 2009:

R. Zach Zierden and I run adventurously around parts of Minneapolis we have never explored before. We happen upon a softball game in play with a seedy man watching and muttering xenophobic remarks. Even though the comments are directed toward the foreigners playing, Zach and I harmonize "Ho-mo-phoooobe!" as we walk past this man. With our eyes on the path ahead, we hear footsteps and heavy breathing following us. We turn around to see the man holding a white trash bag, looking to do us in. We stare him down for a few seconds and he retreats. We walk a few steps before we hear more footsteps and breathing. We annoyedly turn around to see the man with an axe. Zach and I point to several police officers within seeing distance. The man runs away. Zach and I walk hassle-free to a house celebrating a family reunion. Zach wants to be in the picture taking place, and the family lets him do so. Once the camera flashes, Zach morphs into a ten-year-old boy with red hair. I eat food and do not talk to anyone.

Dream Gazette #20

Morning Of Sunday, August 9, 2009:

Pixar picks an abandoned high school to promote the latest movie. The top stair of a stairwell reads "Poseidon". Every step names a different aqua-themed film, from "A River Runs Through It" to "Lady In The Water". The bottom step reads "H 2 The O", the next entry in the Pixar canon. When I step on the last stair, a tidal wave unleashes from behind, flooding the entire school. I run down a hallway toward a cocktail party to warn everybody, but the water reaches the room first. People blame me for the terrible promotion and rate "H 2 The O" as "the worst Pixar movie since 'A Bug's Life'.". I scream, "But you haven't seen it yet!" The crowd does not seem to care. I walk home, making it halfway before realizing the tidal wave is following me. I run like mad, but the water wins.
